Our Fishkill Physical Therapy Center offers a variety of individualized physical and aquatic therapy treatment options for many orthopedic and neurological conditions. In addition, we also treat pediatric, geriatric, athletic and worker-related injuries and/or disorders.
Our land-based rehabilitation programs focus on patient education, manual therapy (joint mobilization, manual traction), stretching, strengthening, conditioning, core stabilization, balance and proprioceptive activities. We supplement this with heat/ice, electric stimulation, ultrasound, ionto/phonophoresis, and massage as needed to expedite the recovery process.
The physical therapy clinic has an abundance of specialized strength and conditioning equipment, not to mention, we have access to all of the equipment inside Gold’s Gym, where we are located. One very unique piece of equipment we own is a Toe CPM (continuous passive motion) Machine. This piece is used to restore mobility to the 1st toe (or Big Toe) after podiatric surgical procedures.
Our aquatic therapy program includes a 93° private therapy pool that varies from 4- 6 feet in depth. The pool can be accessed by stairs or hydraulic chair lift. We also have a state-of-the-art, hydraulic underwater treadmill which enables us to provide services that very few clinics in the area can provide. The pool environment is ideal for conditions such as:
• Arthritis
• Chronic Pain
• Fibromyalgia
• Hip, Knee, Ankle Injuries or Surgeries that require decreased weight bearing
• Spinal Conditions (Low Back Pain, Herniated/Degenerated Discs, Sciatica)
• Total Joint Replacements (Hip, Knee, Shoulder)
• Lower Extremity Athletic Injuries
Fitness Forum is also able to offer many other valuable benefits through our close working relationship with Gold’s Gym. These include:
• FREE Child Care while you’re in therapy
• Complimentary post-rehab health club memberships at Gold’s Gym
• Self-pay pool programs (inside Fitness Forum).
We also offer Complimentary Injury Evaluations/Consultations for those who are not sure how to manage an ache, pain, or injury or who want to know if they are a candidate for physical therapy. Check out the staff link to see how our education and experience can help you achieve your goals!
